Mommy & Me Sewing Class April 28, 2 – 4 pm
Mommy & Me sewing class – for children 7 and older and an adult. A fun opportunity to learn together and both have a project to take home! In this class we will be making decorative felt pouches – perfect for protecting an iPod, mp3 player, cell phone, DS, or other small electronic device, or could even be used for eyeglasses or favourite pocket toys. Learn the whipstitch and how to sew on a button. Bring along the item you wish to make the pouch for – all other materials are included!
Sewing 101 May 8, 6 – 9 pm
Learn how to use your sewing machine! Whether you have never used your machine or just need a refresher, this class will get you started. You will learn the ins and outs of how a sewing machine works, including how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and sew the most useful stitches. You will also become familiar with choosing sewing needles, selecting and cutting fabrics, as well as basic machine maintenance to keep everything running smoothly. Once your machine is up and running, we will sew a quick project together to get you started!
Pattern Basics June 5, 6 – 9
Learn the ins and outs of following a commercial sewing pattern while sewing your first project – a comfy pair of pajama pants! While we make our pjs, you will learn how to choose the proper pattern size, read a pattern, cut the pattern to size and adapt for a more custom fit, as well as seam-finishing techniques for a professional pair of pants, inside and out!

Do you prefer to work at your own pace? Do you have specific questions or a particular project you would like help with? Then private lessons might be for you!
I offer private sewing lessons for beginners at two locations in the Saint John/Kennebecasis Valley area. Private lessons can be scheduled during the day (valley location only) or evening, at a mutually agreeable time.
$35/ 2 hour lesson. Or bring a friend and enjoy learning together for $25 each!
